Though there had been rumblings recently that it might be in jeopardy, Warner Bros. and DC will start shooting Justice League – Part 1 this April, according to director Zack Snyder.

“The idea that we could begin to boot up a Justice League concept was a cool thing,” Snyder tells Entertainment Weekly. “It was a little bit of an ‘about time’ moment, and I don’t blame the studio for feeling that way, because it’s a long time coming,” he said. “But I do feel like it’s a little bit of a creative hurdle. It seems like an easy thing to do at first glance, the idea that, ‘Oh, we just get the rest of the superheroes in there.’ But you have to [establish] a world where they can exist.”

April 11 is apparently the date for the cameras to start rolling on the big superhero team-up, with that schedule just two scant weeks after the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice, which of course tees into the Justice League films. The likes of Jason Momoa's Aquaman, Ezra Miller's The Flash and Ray Fisher as Cyborg will get their proper chance to show their stuff in the first Justice League outing after cameos in Dawn Of Justice.

Talking of that film, it'll be a long 'un (it has to be to incorporate Superman, Batman, Wonder Woman, Lex Luthor, Angry Football Player 1, Food Delivery Guy, Island Scientist and all your favourite characters), and is now listed as clocking in at 2 hours 31 minutes. So we hope you either have a super-bladder or a Bat-Utility Nappy to hand when finishing your bucket drink.

Between Dawn Of Justice and Justice League there are, of course other movies. The Suicide Squad has its moment on August 5, then Wonder Woman's stand-alone film arrives on June 23 next year. Justice League – Part 1 is currently targeting a November 17, 2017 release.
