It’s all systems go in Toronto for the RoboCop reboot, with director Jose Padilha now on set ordering Joel Kinnaman and the rest of the cast about. A new recruit has just hopped aboard, with Aimee Garcia now part of the cast.

Garcia’s signed on to play a scientist who assists the new RoboCop’s creator Norton, played by Gary Oldman. Also among the cast are Michael Keaton, Samuel L Jackson, Abbie Cornish, Jay Baruchel, Michael Kenneth Williams, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Ehle, Marianne Jean-Baptiste and, in one of his rare acting appearances, Oldman’s manager, Douglas Urbanski. You may not know his name, but you might recognise him as the impatient chancellor of Harvard in** The Social Network**.

The new casting follows on from the recent leak of shots of Kinnaman as Alex Murphy, aka RoboCop himself. Other new set images (including Cornish and some of the vehicles) are online over at Collider. There's also the first promotional banner for the film, which arrives via Cine1. Check it out in the gallery below.

**RoboCop **will hit screens on August 9 next year. Garcia, meanwhile, will reprise her role as Jamie Batista in the latest series of serial killer drama Dexter.
