Alexander Skarsgard Will Be Hidden

Though he largely made his name here and across the pond playing a vampire in True Blood, Alexander Skarsgard has shied away from horror in his film career. Now it appears he’s looking to change all that, taking the lead in Hidden.

Co-writers (and twin brothers) Matt and Ross Duffer have signed a deal with Warner Bros. to direct the film, which will find a family hiding in an underground bomb shelter after they escape a weird outbreak. Variety wasn’t able to dig up any other details, but we’re willing to guess that the outbreak has a nasty effect on humans…

The studio picked up the spec script last year, snatching it from the jaws of several other companies. From the sound of it, everyone wants this to go forward quickly.

Skarsgard was last seen in Melancholia and has Battleship set to fire its cinematic guns over here next week. He’s also completed work on ‘net drama Disconnect, mystery thriller The East and family divorce pic What Maisie Knew. And he's still sexing up Louisiana as the vampire Eric in True Blood, which starts again in the US in the summer.
