Weddings, then. Either they're magical, romantic memories or you end up stuck on the farthest table with a bunch of strangers. The latter seems to be the initial experience for Anna Kendrick's Eloise in the first trailer for comedy Table 19.
Eloise, you see, was originally going to be the Maid of Honour, since she was dating the bride's brother. But since he dumped her like a big dumb jerk (over text, no less!), she retaliated by burning, then sending in her RSVP and has been downgraded to the wedding table equivalent of Siberia or the Island of Misfit Toys.
Still, she tries to make the best of it, even as she's seated with a young lothario (Tony Revolori), a weirdo (Stephen Merchant), a realist (Craig Robinson), a seemingly unloved grandparent (June Squibb) and Lisa Kudrow's singleton. But as she slowly bonds with her table-mates, and realises there might be a chance for romance after all with handsome fellow guest Huck (Thomas Cocquerel).
Jeffrey Blitz wrote this one from a story by Mark and Jay Duplass and called the shots. Table 19 heads over to the UK on January 20 next year.
