Columbia Pictures is to adapt Spite House: The Last Secret of the Vietnam War, Monica Jensen-Stevenson's non-fictional account of the experiences of two U.S. Marines, for the big screen. The deal purportedly cost the studio a seven-figure sum. Irwin Winkler and Rob Cowan will produce and Paul Attanasio, who wrote Disclosure and Donnie Brasco, will be screenwriter. In the book, one of the Marines languishes in a P.O.W. camp long after the war has ended; when he finally escapes and returns home, the other fingers him as a traitor and is required to eliminate him.
