Who’s Bad?

The former Mr Jolie is taking the lead in The Bad News Bears, a remake of the 1976 Walter Matthau film. The remake will be written by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, the team behind Bad Santa, Thornton's pitch-black Christmas comedy due out here late this year. The film tells the story of a former minor league baseball player (Thornton) who takes over a talentless Little League (that's kids baseball to you and me) team in an ultra-competitive league. The lazy, beer-swilling coach brings aboard a girl as a pitcher and a motorcycle punk and begins to turn the team's fortunes around. Billy Bob has shown some talent for beer-swilling no-hopers in the past, so this could be rather good
