Given that he won Oscars for Moonlight last year, and is at work on new novel adaptation If Beale Street Could Talk, we're not sure we'd have seen director Barry Jenkins looking to tackle an action thriller as a future project just yet. But the lure of working with Chadwick Boseman on a new film has proved too great, and the pair will collaborate on Expatriate.

Boseman co-wrote the movie with Logan Coles, and will star in the film, the details of which are still mostly under wraps. Deadline has learned that it'll revolve around the hijacking of a plane in the 1970s (a common theme for action movies at the moment – at least one on the subject is headed our way this year) and that Boseman in taking the lead role.

Universal is backing the film, though when it'll start shooting remains to be seen as both filmmakers are busy. Jenkins is in editing for Beale Street and Boseman will be out promoting both Black Panther, which heads to the UK on 13 February, and Avengers: Infinity War, due out on 27 April. And while Jenkins' work is on our minds, UK cinemagoers will finally be able to see Moonlight on 17 February.
