You'll likely have seen the recent UK trailer for the new Alex Proyas fantasy thriller Gods Of Egypt. Given that it's Super Bowl weekend, there's a new TV spot for the movie which shows some other footage. Check it out right here.
Gods Of Egypt sees the Dark City man imagining a world in which the Egyptian god of darkness Set (Gerard Butler) takes over the throne and brings misery and other nastinesses to all and sundry. Good news, though. A mortal hero, a thief called Bek (Brenton Thwaites), allies with the Egyptian god Horus (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) in a mission to save the world and to rescue his love. But with a quest to retrieve magic objects and pass tests of courage and sacrifice, can they defeat Set’s dreadful henchmen and army of creatures?
Big and flashy, with plenty of effects to show off, this is prime Super Bowl mini-trailer fodder. The film itself is out in the States on February 26, and should be with us in the summer.
