Brendan Fraser is already part of the current DC Universe, what with him voicing Cliff Steele, AKA Robotman, in Doom Patrol. But he's set to make even more of an impact with a new project, as Deadline reports that he'll play a villain in Batgirl.

Though the reports haven't yet been confirmed beyond Fraser's involvement, the current thinking is that he'll be Firefly, a pyromaniac and occasional Batman baddie in the comics. Garfield Lyons was horrendously scarred all over his body after a chemical explosion, leading him to wear a flame proof bodysuit during his crimes.

Bad Boys For Life directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are overseeing the new movie, with a script from Christina Hodson. In The Heights' Leslie Grace will lead the film, playing Barbara Gordon/Batgirl.

Though the movie doesn't yet have a set release date, we know it'll debut (in the States, at least) on HBO Max. As for Fraser, he has Darren Aronofsky's The Whale and Martin Scorsese's Killers Of The Flower Moon headed our way.
