A British actor to file firmly in the ‘one to watch’ bracket, Osy Ikhile has been recruited for the new 3D blockbuster take on Tarzan. According to The Wrap, Ikhile will be reporting for junglular duty alongside the double Oscar-nominated Djimon Hounsou.

Ikhile is a man in a hurry. The 25 year-old Londoner is appearing in Ron Howard’s whale tale Heart Of The Sea, in which he plays a sailor named Peterson, and alongside Nicholas Hoult in the David Niven-penned dark comedy Kill Your Friends. He’s a face that fans of TV comedies Misfits, Fresh Meat and Twenty Twelve should already be familiar with.

There’s no word on his **Tarzan **character, except that he’ll be taking a “key supporting role” that involves a chunk of time on set. Hounsou, meanwhile, will play a ‘villainous’ warlord, a qualifier that should make it easy to differentiate him from all the kitten-loving, charity-supporting warlords in the movie.

With Harry Potter man David Yates behind the camera, a sizeable budget and a starry cast, Warner Bros. has high hopes for its live-action 3D version of Edgar Rice Burroughs’ vine fellow. Skarsgård will play the iconic ape man after he has left the jungle and settled in London, only to be called back into action at the behest of Queen Victoria and sent back to Africa. Her Maj asks him to investigate dodgy dealings around a mine. The Wolf Of Wall Street’s Robbie is Jane, while Samuel L. Jackson will be a comrade and Christoph Waltz a villain.

**Tarzan **will arrive in US cinemas on July 1, 2016, with a UK release in the same timeframe.
