With David Blaine trying to cram the art of illusion and endurance back into our minds by cramming himself into a water bubble, it seems like the appropriate time for a Harry Houdini biopic that Catherine Zeta-Jones is in negotiations to join.
Thank goodness, then, that we have Death Defying Acts on the way. Guy Pierce is starring in the movie, which focuses on the life of famed escape artist Harry Houdini in the time when he was most famous (circa 1926).
Pearce will play Houdini as he tours the world attracting huge crowds – and the attentions of sexy psychic (Catherine Zeta-Jones, if she signs up) with the pair striking up a passionate affair.
Oscar And Lucinda helmer Gillian Armstrong will call the shots later this summer.
