Chris Rock just can't keep his hands off French films. Not content with remaking Rohmer in I Think I Love My Wife, he's nabbed the rights to Lucien Jean-Baptiste's La premiere etoile, which translates to** The First Star.**
Rock is planning to write the screenplay and produce the tale of a black family from a working class neighborhood who outage the stuffy rich types when they show up at their ski resort.
Jean-Baptiste directed the film last year and it surged at the French box office, ending up the 10th highest earner for the year. Rock's clearly hoping that some of that magic will rub off on the remake - and he'll need it, since Wife saw little critical or commercial success back in 2007.
