Clancy Brown

While many fans seem confused as to why the Dexter team is re-visiting the character (as others hope it'll be better than the maligned finale) for a new 10-episode run, at least they're making a solid choice for the latest villain – Clancy Brown is aboard.

Dexter, which saw Michael C. Hall as the serial killer vigilante who targets criminals, was at its best when the threats were compelling and Brown gives us hope that his character will be just that. He'll play Kurt Caldwell, the unofficial mayor of the small town of Iron Lake. Here's the show's official description of him. "He realized the American dream by going from driving big rigs, just like his father did, to now owning several trucks and the local truck stop. Powerful, generous, loved by everyone — he’s a true man of the people. If he’s got your back, consider yourself blessed. But should you cross Kurt, or hurt anyone that he cares for, God help you..."

The actual plot of the limited run (so far) is a mystery beyond this new information, but it promises to catch up with Dexter Morgan in real time, years after the finale.
