Clerk Trailer Chronicles The Career Of Kevin Smith

Kevin Smith

There is no denying that Kevin Smith has had quite the career. Kicking off with indie sensation Clerks in 1994, he's charted a course through pop cultural consciousness, with highs and lows, successes and failures, but has always re-invented himself. Now a documentary about that path is headed to screens, Clerk. The film has a trailer online.

While friend and frequent collaborator Malcolm Ingram could probably have filled the documentary just letting Smith monologue about his life (we all know the man can talk in highly entertaining, often self-deprecating fashion when given a venue), he's instead rounded up other colleagues and peers including Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, Penn Jillette, Jason Lee, Stan Lee, Richard Linklater, Justin Long, Jason Mewes, Scott Mosier, Jason Reitman and more to talk about him, while Smith revisits the scene of where it all began – the Quick Stop convenience store.

Clerk. will be out on digital formats in the States on 23 November, though it doesn't appear to have a UK date yet. As for Smith's next film, Clerks III wrapped shooting in August and should be out next year.
