A few years ago, Clint Eastwood set up Richard Jewell, the based-on-truth tale of the Atlanta Olympics security guard who became famous for discovering a bomb at one of the venues and clearing attendees before it exploded, only to see the spotlight of suspicion fall on him. Back then, Eastwood had Jonah Hill and Leonardo DiCaprio attached, but times have changed and now it's I, Tonya's Paul Walter Hauser and Sam Rockwell as the leads. See the trailer...

The year is 1996, and the olympic events are in full swing in Atlanta. When security guard Richard Jewell (Hauser) reports finding the device that led to a bombing at Centennial Park — it makes him a hero whose swift actions save countless lives. But within days, the law enforcement wannabe becomes the FBI’s number one suspect, vilified by press and public alike, his life ripped apart. Reaching out to independent, anti-establishment attorney Watson Bryant (Rockwell), Jewell staunchly professes his innocence. But Bryant finds he is out of his depth as he fights the combined powers of the FBI, Georgia Bureau of Investigation and Atlanta police to clear his client’s name, while keeping Richard from trusting the very people trying to destroy him.

Billy Ray adapted the Vanity Fair article The Ballad Of Richard Jewell by Marie Brenner, and the cast also includes Kathy Bates, Olivia Wilde and Jon Hamm. It'll head to UK screens in January.
