With Disney'sCruella showing solid legs at the cinema and via its dual release on Disney+ (for an extra, Premier Access charge), it's perhaps not all that surprising that the Mouse House is considering a sequel. The Hollywood Reporter has learned that both director Craig Gillespie and co-writer Tony McNamara are expected to return for the follow-up.

It's still early days, however, and things could still change, but with the first film earning more than $48.5 million after two weekends on release, and the added boost of the streaming service release, the odds are in its favour.

Naturally, there are zero details to be found yet, but you can imagine star Emma Stone scoring a hefty pay boost to slip back into Cruella's fashions, especially as by the end of the first film – spoiler alert if you haven't seen it – the character hasn't reached the full height of her dog-skinning evil ways.
