It took a while, but we now know when the Disney+ streaming service will be launching in the UK. According to a tweet from the UK arm of the Mouse House, Disney+ is launching on 31 March next year.

The delay has been because the company still has deals in place with partners such as Sky (which has a dedicated Disney film channel, among other things), which it had to let expire before the force of the fully operational battle s... sorry, entertainment archive could enter UK orbits.

We're promised big swathes of content from Disney's live-action and animated studios, plus offerings from Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and more. Among them is The Mandalorian, which is scheduled to be available weekly in the States, and will be up its first season whole when it starts here (a second season is in the works).

In addition to the UK launch, audiences in Germany, France, Italy and Spain also be able to access the service, while we're cautioned that not all the shows and films will be available immediately.
