Doctor Strange: Xochitl Gomez On For The Sequel

We already know that Benedict Cumberbatch's Sorcerer Supreme (AKA Dr. Stephen Strange) will show up in the third Tom Holland-starring Spider-Man film, but what of his own sequel, Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness? We do know it'll start shooting after the Spidey crossover, and Xochitl Gomez is joining the cast.

She'll be part of the ensemble that already includes Benedict Wong and Chiwetel Ejiofor, who return from the original film (Wong having also cropped up in two Avengers movies and Elizabeth Olsen, who will be Wanda Maximoff, AKA Scarlet Witch, in a storyline that will itself cross over from the WandaVision Marvel Disney+ series.

Sam Raimi's in the director's chair for the movie, taking over for Scott Derrickson, and gearing up to start on the film before the year is out, with a 2022 release date on the books. Gomez is currently best known for Netflix's new take on The Baby–Sitter's Club.
