These days, it's common for big movies to build additional production time into their schedules to add shots and sequences the filmmakers feel their movie needs. Denis Villeneuve has done just that with his ambitious adaptation of Dune, with one of the cast, Oscar Isaac confirming the plan.
"We’re going to do some additional shooting in mid August... They’re saying in Budapest in Hungary," Isaac tells Deadline. "I saw some things cut together and it just looks amazing. Denis is a real artist and it will be exciting to see it come together. It’s kind of wild that we’re doing some additional shooting a few months before it’s supposed to come out, but that happened with Star Wars as well."
According to the site, the new production won't affect the film's release date, which is still set for December this year. And the new shoot will, of course, have to abide by new Coronavirus precautions. With Isaac, Timothée Chalamet, Josh Brolin, Rebecca Ferguson and Stellan Skarsgard also in the cast, Dune is one of the more anticipated films of the year (especially by our James D) and has both a second part and a TV spin-off in different stages of development.
