She designed dream worlds in Inception for Christopher Nolan, but now Ellen Page is taking a leaf from his book and crafting her own film. Page will make her directorial debut on a movie called Miss Steven****s, with Anna Faris attached to star.
Miss Stevens, written by Julia Hart (who acted in Tuck Everlasting and has another script, The Keeping Room, set to be shot this year), finds a teacher heading out on a weekend trip with her students as her life is in utter disarray.
But the experiences she goes through at the state drama competition, and the bond she forms with the high schoolers, helps her reclaim her sense of self-worth.
Before she starts calling the shots, Page has a number of acting jobs lined up and films set for release. She’ll return to the role of Kitty Pryde for X-Men: Days Of Future Past and will work on drama Freeheld. Page had two films at Sundance this year, Zal Batmanglij’s **The East **and Lynn Shelton’s Touchy Feely.
Faris, last seen in** The Dictator **(and, though she might wish to forget it, Movie 43), is on UK screens this week with I Give It A Yea****r and is set to voice Sam again in the Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs sequel, due October 25.
