The star of the show was Jack Lowden as Renton – hardly surprising considering Ewan McGregor's character did most of the heavy-lifting in Danny Boyle's 1996 film – who will soon be seen in Amma Asante's A United Kingdom. The rest of the cast were equally game and consisted of (deep breath):

Fisayo Akinade (The Girl With All The Gifts) as Spud

David Elliot (Kajaki) as Sick Boy

Tom Glynn-Carney (Dunkirk) as Tommy

Kevin Guthrie (Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them) as Begbie

Jack Lowden (A United Kingdom) as Renton

Amy Manson (Once Upon A Time) as Gail

Eunice Olumide (Rogue One: A Star Wars Story) as Lizzy

Chloe Pirrie (War & Peace) as Diane

Charlotte Spencer (The Living And The Dead) as Allison

Joanna Vanderham (One Of Us) as Swanney aka Mother Superior
