Harrison to play Bob The Builder?

When Bob The Builder hit number one in the music charts it became apparent that there was no longer any hope for us as a species. But the hard-hatted children's hero must be doing something right because he's still worshipped by nippers across the globe and you can still hear the odd hummed verse from Can We Fix It while sitting on the tube. Anyway, Bob The Builder is now destined for a cinematic debut and who better to voice him than someone who was once a carpenter himself? Harrison Ford has been tipped for the role and is said to be considering it largely at the urging of girlfriend Calista Flockheart - whose two-year-old is something of a Builder fan. "Viacom [who makes the US version of the show] has been very good in keeping us in the loop." A spokesman for the BBC told WENN. "Ford came back to them to ask for more details about what was involved. People at Viacom seem to think he's been leaned on by Calista. Obviously it would be a fantastic coup to have the show voiced by Harrison Ford." Shocked that Bob's influence reaches so deeply into American culture? Don't be, instead save your outrage for the fact that the show is actually re-dubbed with American voice actors for it's Stateside broadcast. And what's wrong with Neil Morrissey's Home Counties twang may we ask? You don't see us messing with their exports do you? Can anyone really imagine a Welsh Fred Flintstone or Homer Simpson berating Bart in an impenetrable Brummy drone? Thought not.
