Even with the army of the dead breathing down their necks (do they breathe? It's probably chilly if they do), it appears that most of Winterfell's current residents – and a few others – aren't exactly all that thrilled to see Daenerys Targaryen (Emilia Clarke) swanning in to tell everyone what to do in the coming battle. Still, she's got the dragons, the armed forces and the love of Jon Snow (Kit Harington), and she might just be their last chance to survive the winter. New images from the final season of Game Of Thrones are now online, and they feature a lot of serious faces.

We already know that the final season will have two nearly hour-long episodes followed by four that clock in around 80 minutes each, and that a two-hour documentary about the making of the eighth season will run a week after the series finale. Still unknown outside of the GOT camp (and one or two of the casts' significant others apparently) is who ends up on the Iron Throne when all the blood has been spilled and the final blows have landed.
Game Of Thrones returns to our screens via HBO (in the States) and Sky Atlantic (here) on 14 April.
