Felicity Jones and David Oyelowo in The Midnight Sky
The post-apocalyptic tale follows Augustine (Clooney), a lonely scientist in the Arctic, as he races to stop Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe.
Mark L. Smith wrote the adaptation of Lily Brooks-Dalton’s acclaimed novel Good Morning, Midnight and Clooney rounded up the likes of David Oyelowo, Kyle Chandler, Demián Bichir and Tiffany Boone to co-star.
While the idea of a film about a global catastrophe might not quite seem like the movie we all want right now, Clooney has a good track record as a director/producer/star. The film will hit Netflix in December.
