Mike Newell signs up for Potter 4

A couple of weeks back we told you that British director Mike Newell would be signing on as the first British director to helm a Harry Potter film, and wouldn't you know it but we were right. The Four Weddings director has now been officially confirmed to direct Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, picking up where Alfonso Cuaron leaves off with Prisoner of Azkaban. Producer David Heyman described Newell as "the perfect choice" for Potter 4. "He has worked with children, made us laugh, and had us sitting on the edge of our seats, he is great with actors and imbues all his characters, all his films, with great humanity. I'm thrilled." As, it has to be said, are we.
