Those desperate for a look at the film version of His Dark Materials can rejoice, for the official website is here at last, complete with production art and stills from the film.
The story of a young girl’s quest to find her kidnapped friend, the first book of His Dark Materials, called Northern Lights in this country (although they’re obviously going with the American title of The Golden Compass instead), follows Lyra and her daemon Pantaleimon on a journey from Oxford to the North Pole and beyond. The film will star Nicole Kidman, Daniel Craig and newcomer Dakota Blue Richards as young Lyra.
