As is common to many adaptations, there are often characters added who weren't in the original work. Some are to help move the story along, others are in new plot-lines entirely. Add to their number whoever Haley Bennett is playing in Eli Roth's film based on the Borderlands game series.

IGN reports that Bennett will be playing a new, unknown role who has connections to Cate Blanchett's character, Lilith (who is a Siren, one of the few people who displays magical abilities).

Borderlands's story remains a secret, though it'll probably follow the game's basic idea of a group of four Vault Hunters travelling to the distant planet Pandora to hunt down an alien vault that is rumored to contain advanced alien technology. They quickly find themselves battling the local wildlife and bandit population as they attempt to stop the head of a private army from reaching the vault first.

Bennett joins a cast that already also includes Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart, Ariana Greenblatt and Florian Munteanu. Borderlands is awaiting a release date.
