It’s Team America meets Robot Chicken, British-style, as Swipe Films is hard at work on Jackboots On Whitehall.

The story will be told through the medium of action figures, and the plot is a World War Two comedy spoof that sees Germany invading, and occupying England, but eventually being defeated by Scotland.

Director Edward McHenry’s a newcomer, but the cast will include such well-known voices as Timothy Spall (Churchill), Alan Cumming (Hitler), Tom Wilkinson (Goebbels) and Richard O’Brien as Himmler. Richard E Grant, Rosamund Pike and Sanjeev Bhaskar have also signed on.

"It's Team America in style and tone but without the strings," producer Frank Mannion told Variety. "We are using specially made Action Man-type action figures, and purpose built models of Hadrian's Wall, Downing Street, etc. It's live action as opposed to animation or stop motion." Can’t wait! The voice recording started yesterday, and the actual film will start shooting in March.
