Clearly not content with bringing one horror franchise roaring back to life with Halloween, David Gordon Green is attached to be part of the team working on a new small screen adaptation of Hellraiser for HBO.

Though there is still a reboot film in the works, HBO is pushing ahed with its version, which will take the current mythology as a given and forge ahead with the story, putting Pinhead, leader the hellish Cenobites, front and centre.

Writer/producers Mark Verheiden and Michael Dougherty are running the show, while Green will direct the pilot and a few other initial episodes to craft an appropriately terrifying tone for the series, which is once again spawned from the concept created decades ago by Clive Barker in his novella The Hellbound Heart.

As for Halloween, the next film in Green's series, Halloween Kills, remains scheduled for 16 October this year, but we'll have to see if it is affected by pandemic delays.
