While he's more been focused on indie drama work, Jake Gyllenhaal has also showed up in the likes of Spider-Man: Far From Home. Now he's looking to go full action star again, as he's in talks to star in Michael Bay's new film, Ambulance.

Bay has decided to make this his next film, working from a script by Chris Fedak. Ambulance, according toThe Hollywood Reporter, apparently has the feel of a '90s action thriller – though also heavier on character than some of them – following two brothers (Gyllenhaal would play the elder of the pair) who steal an ambulance. Trouble is, there's already a female paramedic and a patient in critical condition aboard.

Dylan O'Brien is reportedly in consideration for the younger brother, while Eiza Gonzalez may be the paramedic, but neither of them have made deals yet. Also in flux? A distributor, though Universal is looking to grab it.

Ambulance would shoot in LA under Covid safety protocols, as with the Bay-produced pandemic thriller Songbird.
