Jessica Chastain has been taking an increasingly active role in her career, smartly choosing the projects she wants to work on and producing some of her films. She's now setting up a new movie, looking to work on a character-driven action pic called Eve.
Writer/director Matthew Newton is behind the script and will call the shots for the movie, which is currently something of a mystery. But Chastain will be front and centre, hopefully showing off some solid action chops. Voltage Pictures will provide the backing for the new film.
"Matthew is wonderfully adept at crafting complex and relatable characters," Chastain and producing partner Kelly Carmichael said in a statement. "We’ve been fans of his work and are so thrilled to be partnering with him and Voltage on Eve."
Chastain will next be seen in X-Men: Dark Phoenix, due out on 5 February next year. She's currently filming It: Chapter 2, headed our way the following September.
