Despite being married since 2010, Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have not starred in front of the camera together in a film, preferring to keep their personal life separate from their careers (though they are both lending their voices to 'toon Animal Crackers). Now they're changing that for Krasinski's next directorial gig, supernatural thriller A Quiet Place.

It's a change of pace for Krasinski, who has previously made comedy drama Brief Interviews With Hideous Men and family drama The Hollars. No plot details have been released yet, but Krasinski is on board to write, direct and star in the movie alongside Blunt.

Paramount and Platinum Dunes (the latter co-owned by the trio of Brad Fuller, Andrew Form and Krasinski's 13 Hours director Michael Bay) are backing this one, after the actor/director expressed an interest in trying something in the genre. He'll take over an existing script from Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, and is aiming to start shooting this autumn.

Blunt is at work now on Mary Poppins Returns (due around Christmas 2018) and will be heard in the aforementioned Animal Crackers on 15 September this year. Krasinski is shooting the Jack Ryan Tv series and also has a role in Kathryn Bigelow's yet-to-be-titled Detroit-set drama.
