With a TV show set in the assassin-heavy world of John Wick already in the works, the films' influence continues to spread. Lionsgate has Len Wiseman on board to direct Ballerina, a female-fronted movie spin-off.

Shay Hatten, who was one of the writers on most recent Wick stint Parabellum, has worked on the script, which Deadline has learned will feature the character of Ballerina, played in Parabellum by newcomer Unity Phelan, though for the spin-off we could see someone else take over the role.

Ballerina will track a young assassin who seeks revenge against the people who killed her family, which feels very much a Wick-style story. Whether Keanu Reeves will crop up remains to be seen, but expect it to be cameo if anything.

John Wick: Chapter 4, meanwhile, is in development for a potential 2021 release.
