There might not be a true need for another adaptation of JM Barrie's Peter Pan (we've only just had Beasts Of The Southern Wild director Benh Zeitlin's adaptation). But in its drive to turn every one of its animated properties into a live-action film, Disney is not worried about that. And now the studio, alongside director David Lowery, has their eyes on Jude Law to play nemesis Captain Hook.

According to Variety, Law is now in talks to take on the role, bringing to life the version of the character that Lowery – who last worked with the company to usher Pete's Dragon into the live-action realm – and co-writer Toby Halbrooks.

Law has yet to close a deal to don the hook and start worrying about the tick-tocking crocodile (would it be a TikTokking croc these days?), but whether he signs or not, Disney is planning to give the film a full cinema release, rather than taking aim at its streaming service.
