Justin Theroux Gets Wanderlust

Justin Theroux might be spending more of his time behind the camera polishing or writing the likes of Tropic Thunder and Iron Man 2 these days, but he’s not neglecting his acting career entirely. He’ll crop up asa bad guy in David Gordon Green’s **Your Highness **(which has just seen its release date pushed back to next year) and he’s signed on to work for another David – Wain, this time – on **Wanderlust.

We reported last month that Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd have already signed on to play a married couple who fall into a malaise about modern life and decide that something a little more freewheeling might be to their taste. So they decide to sample the counterculture existence away from the city.

While it sounds like a recipe for a smug, standard studio comedy, it boasts some serious comic chops behind the camera, with Wain co-writing the script alongside former State colleague Ken Marino (who we bet will also crop up acting) and Judd Apatow lending his producer hand to the pic.

Theroux’s not a stranger to the group of friends who work together: he’s appeared in films by ex-State members before, including Michael Showalter’s The Baxter and Wain’s The Ten.

Plus, in addition to keeping his writing skills in shape with comedy Space Invader, he’s also in line to direct Zoolander 2, should the project ever actually get the greenlight.
