British actress Kate Winslet has become the latest thesp to be seduced by the idea of appearing in a musical. According to Variety, Kate is the most recent signing to John Turturro's new film, Romance and Cigarettes. Among the confirmed crooning co-stars will be Sopranos star James Gandolfini and Susan Sarandon, but Turturro also has his eye on Christopher Walken to join the team. Billed as a cross between Pennies from Heaven and the classic 1950s TV series The Honeymooners, Turturro's film will feature all its stars singing and dancing and will be produced by the director's good friends Joel and Ethan Coen. Described by Variety as 'a dark comic musical that tells the story of one man's journey into infidelity and redemption,' Romance and Cigarettes is due to begin filming this Autumn.
