While she’s proved adapt at balancing comedy and drama in several films, Kristen Wiig hasn’t appeared in a straight-out drama since her small role in All Good Things. She’s set to change that if she makes a deal to co-star in **Nasty Baby.

The Brooklyn-set film is the brainchild of Sebastian Silva, and would see the writer-director playing Freddy, an artist who longs to have a baby with his partner, Mo (Tunde Adebimpe, usually found fronting indie band TV On The Radio). They turn to best pal Anna (the role Wiig’s in talks to take), a family practioner more ready to have a baby than be in a relationship.

But when Freddy’s sperm isn’t quite getting the job done in terms of procreation, Mo realises he may have to step up – and he’s not sure he wants to be a father anyway. Alia Shawkat, Mark Margolis and Denis O’Hare are all in contention for roles for the film, which Silva wants to kick off shooting soon.

Wiig will next show up in Anchorman: The Legend Continues (out December 20) and The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty (due December 26).
