Marc Webb In Talks To Direct Disney’s Live-Action Snow White Movie

Thanks to some initial success Disney has been cranking out the animated-to-live-action adaptations of late, with Dumbo been and gone, Aladdin on screens and The Lion King waiting at Pride Rock for its moment to return this summer. One of the company's most famous 'toons, the one that kickstarted their first big run of fairytale films, has been in development as a live-action prospect for a a while. And, according to Variety, Marc Webb is now in talks to direct Snow White.

The 1938 original Snow White And The Seven Dwarfs is an unsurprising target for the conversion job, even given its classic status. Expect the new version to expland on the story, with The Girl On The Train's Erin Cressida Wilson negotiating a deal to write the script and La La Land/The Greatest Showman duo Benj Pasek and Justin Paul on to craft a few fresh tunes to stand alongside such well-known numbers as "Whistle While You Work".

Given its public domain nature, the Snow story is one that has been brought to the screens in various versions over the years, but Disney's still holds a special place. No pressure for the new team, then...
