Mary Elizabeth Winstead is on a bit of an action kick of late, with roles in upcoming movies such as Birds Of Prey and Gemini Man. She'll also star in one of her own, landing the lead in Netflix thriller Cate.
Cedric Nicolas-Troyan is in the director's chair for this one, working from a script by Umair Aleem. Cate once again brings up the cinematic idea that the life of a hitman – or hitwoman in this case – is not an easy one, as Winstead's main character will find herself poisoned and, with the clock ticking down on her final 24 hours, must hunt her murderer through the streets of Tokyo.
Netflix has had the rights to this one since 2017, but the cameras will finally start rolling later this year. As mentioned, Winstead will be seen in Birds Of Prey (due next February) and before that, has a role in Gemini Man, landing 11 October this year.
