While he's appeared in a number of movies, Michael C. Hall seems happier either on stage or particularly TV, where he's had success with the likes of Six Feet Under and Dexter. He's headed back to the small screen with Safe, a thriller series from author Harlan Coben.

With Coben overseeing things, the actual script for this one comes from Shameless' Danny Brocklehurst (who also worked on The Five with Coben), spinning a story of a pediatric surgeon who is raising daughters Jenny and Carrie after the death of his wife in the UK. While they live largely securely in a gated community near Manchester, things change when one of the girls sneaks out to a party. Murder and a missing person case follow...

Netflix and Canal+ are backing the series, with the cameras rolling now in Manchester and Cheshire. Hall will next be seen in Mark Felt: The Man Who Brought Down The White House, which should be out this year, and he'll play JFK in the next series of The Crown.
