We've been waiting to see musical adaptation Everybody's Talking About Jamie for a while now, so it's a little disappointing to report that, even as cinemas reopen, it'll skip a wide theatrical release for Amazon.

That said, there's no denying that arriving worldwide on Amazon's Prime Video service offers some advantages, and it'll still have as big audience. Inspired by true events, Everybody's Talking About Jamie follows Jamie New (Max Harwood), a teenager from Sheffield, who dreams of life on stage. While his classmates plan their livelihoods after they leave school, Jamie contemplates revealing his secret career ambition to become a fierce and proud drag queen.

Sarah Lancashire, Shobna Gulati, Ralph Ineson, Adeel Akhtar, Sharon Horgan and Richard E. Grant are all in the cast for the film, which will now hit Amazon on 17 September.
