A lot about Blade Runner 2049 is being kept cloudy for now – we know only a few things about the plot, and that's a good thing – so it seems appropriate that the new character posters for the film, featuring Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, are suitably murky.

It's also representative of the setting for Denis Villeneuve's follow-up to Ridley Scott's sci-fi classic, which finds Earth's climate in a ruined state. Set 30 years after the original, it follows LAPD Blade Runner K (Gosling) discovering a long-buried secret that launches him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Ford), a former member of the team who has been missing for the past three decades.

Beyond that, we're content to know little else until the film itself arrives on 6 October. Robin Wright, Dave Bautista, Mackenzie Davis and Jared Leto are all part of the cast for this one.
