Nick Offerman Opens Toy's House

Given that Parks And Recreation comedy god Nick Offerman and actress Megan Mullally seem to like working and spending time together so much, you might wonder why they don’t just get married. Well, too late Luthor: they’ve been a real-life wedded couple since 2003. And they’ll be sharing the screen again for indie comedy Toy’s House, which will also feature Nick Robinson, Gabriel Basso, Moises Arias, Erin Moriarty, Mary Lynn Rasjkub and Alison Brie.

Robinson has the lead, playing Joe Toy, one of three unhappy teenagers who head out into the wilderness, build themselves a ramshackle house and try to live off the land. But once they really get into the nitty gritty of survival, they start to realise that perhaps they’re not quite ready to strike out on their own.

Basso will be Toy’s best pal, Patrick, while Arias will be Blaggio, a bullied, awkward type who finds some acceptance with the other two. Brie is making a cameo as Joe’s sister, while Offerman is on to play his grumpy dad. Mullally will be Patrick’s smothering mother.

Moriarty’s playing a beautiful girl who causes something of a rift between Joe and Patrick, with Rasjkub as a police officer searching for the missing trio. Jordan Vogt-Roberts is in the director’s chair for this one, working from a script by Chris Galletta. It all starts shooting next month in Cleveland.
