With the release of his latest film, The Lighthouse, imminent (at least in the US), The Witch's Robert Eggers is looking to build the cast for his next job. He's hiring people he's worked with before and some starry new faces for The Northman, with Nicole Kidman, Alexander Skarsgård, Anya Taylor-Joy, Bill Skarsgård and Willem Dafoe in talks.

According to Deadline, this next film will be a Viking revenge saga set at the turn of the 10th Century. Eggers wrote the script alongside Icelandic poet Sjón. No specific plot details have been released yet, nor do we know what roles the cast are up for. But given the Viking setting, a double shot of Skarsgård seems like the right call, while Taylor-Joy is a veteran of The Witch and Dafoe will be seen in The Lighthouse.

Talking of, the psychological horror premiered in the UK at the London Film Festival earlier this month, but won't make it to general release until 31 January. It's set to hit the States this week.
