While the best news that could come from the team behind Netflix wrestling series GLOW could be, well, another series of GLOW, we're going to say that a new anthology series will stand as good enough news for now and the cast is certainly worth getting excited for. Nicole Kidman, Cynthia Erivo, Merritt Wever and Alison Brie are all on for Roar.
Liz Flahive and Carly Mensch are adapting a series of short stories by Cecilia Ahern for Apple TV+. The actual stories are under wraps, but will reportedly cover a wide range of genres and feature tales from a uniquely female point of view. Eight half-hour episodes are planned for the initial run.
So while we're sorry that GLOW was cancelled shakes fist at Covid and/or budget reasons, we can at least take comfort that one of that show's cast (Brie) will be back working with Flahive and Mensch.
