John Wyndham's books have been adapted for screens big and small, and filmmakers just keep going back to his clever science fiction stories. Yet while we'd have thought they'd move on to tackling the likes of The Kraken Wakes, they're back knocking at the door of The Midwich Cuckoos, with The Night Manager and Hanna's David Farr working on a new adaptation.

According to Deadline, Farr is turning the novel into an eight-episode series for Sky, which will once again turn the story of a sleepy English village quietly invaded by children with glowing eyes and otherworldly powers.

Cuckoos has been brought to the big screen twice before, once in 1960 and then in 1995 with John Carpenter directing. Both times, its title was switched to Village Of The Damned, but there's no indication yet if Farr will do the same.
