Although the worthy fans of the late poet Sylvia Plath would probably disagree with us, the filmic biography of the poetess probably wouldn't have raised a solitary headline were it not for the news today that the BBC had secured the services of one Gwyneth Paltrow for the title role. Not only has Paltrow signed up to play Plath, but the canny BBC have also approached the actress's mother Blythe Danner to play the role of Plath's mother
