Paul Greengrass made a name for himself as director with movies such as Bloody Sunday and United 93. He hasn't as yet, turned his eye towards anything to do with the Trump administration, but a potential new movie sounds like it could be a sly comment on the concept: Greengrass will develop and direct Night At Camp David.

The new film, which sees him re-team with News Of The World studio Universal, adapts Fletcher Knebel's 1965 book, itself the story of a junior US Senator who comes to believe that the President is mentally unbalanced and sliding into paranoia as he seeks closer ties to the Soviet Union, believes a media cabal is out to get him, and wants to annex Canada. So... yes, definitely some themes that could feel relevant there. Unsurprisingly, the tome was reissued in 2018.

There's no release date for this one, since it's at an early stage, but it's certainly something Greengrass could dig into.
