While he's usually been found drinking and knowing things on Game Of Thrones these past few years, Peter Dinklage has always been able to squeeze movies in between his shooting stints for the show. And given the series' changing schedule this year, it seems he's looking to join the Marvel team, with Variety reporting he's in early talks to appear in both Avengers: Infinity War movies.
While we'd caution at this point that the trade mag is only citing sources, and the fact that Marvel has made no official announcement, it seems likely that Dinklage is at least discussing the idea of taking on a mystery role. And it wouldn't be his first time in superhero cinema; he played the driven, mutant-hating Dr. Bolivar Trask in X-Men: Days Of Future Past.
Of course, we have to wonder how much room there will be for new characters in Infinity War and whatever the follow-up movie is to be called. After all, they're scheduled to feature most of the current Marvel Cinematic Universe line-up going against Josh Brolin's Thanos. Still, it'll be fun to speculate and Dinklage would be a welcome presence.
Civil War directors Anthony and Joe Russo are taking on the mammoth task of directing both movies back to back across a period of several months, and Avengers: Infinity War will be with us on 27 April 2018, followed by the still-untitled follow up on 26 April 2019.
