Preparing to enter the ring and swing a few emotional punches is new boxing movie Prizefighter, which features Matt Hookings, Ray Winstone and Russell Crowe (no stranger to onscreen pugilism himself after Cinderella Man). And we're pleased to bring you an exclusive first look at the trailer.

To make this one even more compelling, the story is true: in 1800, Jem Belcher became the youngest ever boxing world champion. Belcher (Hookings, who writes, produces and stars here), dominated his early fights with his unique skill, speed, and scientific approach and soon became Champion of England, a natural talent, oozing with charm, style and grace.

After a life-changing accident risked ending his career forever, he begins a long, gruelling road to recovery which eventually sees him compete in a death-defying standoff – known only as The Forgotten Fight of the Century – to reclaim his title once and for all as England’s youngest boxing champion.

Directed by Daniel Graham, Prizefighter also stars Marton Csokas, Jodhi May, Julian Glover, Steven Berkoff and real-life boxing champ Joe Egan. It'll land on Prime Video on 22 July.
